The Emma Signature Bed follows the release of the popular Emma Diamond mattress. The Emma Signature bed is primarily made from polyester, so it adds a lovely and upmarket aesthetic to your bedroom. This is my review after building it, and sleeping on it for a week. I’ll be talking about the benefits of the base, the cost, durability, things to keep in mind and more.

Benefits of the Emma Signature Bed

The Emma Signature bed has several key features to make it a sound bed frame choice for most people:

  1. Design: The Emma bed comes with a classic Scandinavian look that feels and looks more upmarket than it probably is. It only comes in one colour: graphite. It does look quite premium overall!
  2. Flexi-slats: The flexi-slats on the Emma are very sturdy and are designed for extra support.
  3. AirFlow: The bed base features airflow features to make it more breathable and help you sleep cooler.

Things to Keep in Mind

The Emma Signature bed only carries up to 500kg of weight, so if you’re a heavier person or couple, you’ll need to consider your weight and the weight of your mattress to determine if it’s a good fit for you.

There is also not much storage room underneath the bed, so if storage space is an issue for you and you want a bed that you can store items underneath, this might not be the one for you.

While the flexi-slats are designed to offer greater support, be mindful that not all mattresses are suited to a bed base with flexi-slats, and we generally recommended one with solid slats.

Other Features

The actual frame of the Emma Signature Bed is made with metal and plywood while the upholstery is a polyester fabric.

The Emma Signature Bed comes with patented technology for ultimate support, FlexiSlats for tailored pressure relief, and a special AirFlow bed base for maximum breathability.

The upholstering of the bed and the thick padding of the headboard make this bed frame pretty comfy, especially if you like to rest your head against the headboard. Emma has also added a hotel-level height to make it easier to hop in and out of bed – but be mindful that some customers have suggested the edges of the bed frame are sharp.

Shipping & Unboxing Of The Emma Signature Bed

To my home in Sydney it took 2 days from the day of ordering. Shipping is free, which is a nice added bonus.

The bed arrived packed inside 2 boxes, so a lot less packaging than some of Emma’s competitors. Inside is a booklet with instructions to set up the bed frame. It does require a couple of Allen keys to assemble, but these are included.

The Emma Bed can supposedly be assembled by one person in under 30 minutes, but in my experience, it took two people and closer to 45 minutes.

Trial Period & Returns & Warranty

Emma gives you a 100-night trial period to test if the bed frame is right for you. If you’re not happy with it, you can return it for a full refund. Meanwhile, you get a pretty standard 5-year warranty.

One Week with Emma

I found the Emma Signature bed frame pretty comfy to sleep on – it didn’t creak and the hotel level height was actually really great and made more of a difference than I thought it would getting in and out of bed.
